Backup and Restore Data
The symmedia Edge Devices are equipped with a USB backup and update mechanism for network setup without a graphical interface. This requires a FAT32 formatted USB stick and a computer with (text) editor and file manager on which the settings are made. After inserting a USB stick, the symmedia Edge Device checks whether there is a symmedia.txt file in the root directory and then executes the commands contained therein.
An interruption of the power supply during a write operation can damage the device and render it unusable.
Please ensure that there is a permanent power supply during backup operations.
