Operator - Asset Remote Access

Description

You can start Remote Access from the Asset detail page. Selectable remote access endpoints can be viewed and configured in the Remote Access Settings.

If the Remote Access is enabled on the Asset detail page, only users of the Operator tenant can use the feature. Service Providers can only use Remote Access when it is enabled for a specific Service Case.

Preconditions

  • Required user role for enabling Remote Access on the Asset detail page: Workshop Manager

  • Required user roles for using Remote Access on the Asset detail page: Workshop Manager, Maintenance Engineer, Machine Operator

Remote Access Panel

The Remote Access can be enabled for internal Operator use. The required user role for enabling and disabling the Remote Access for all users of the own company is Workshop Manager.

  • Enable the Remote Access via the toggle button

Start a tunnel session

  • Choose a configured tunnel type (TCP, SSC Data Link or WebVNC) from the Tunnel dropdown list. 

  • Click on 

    to start the tunnel connection.

  • WebVNC tunnel connections will automatically start in the browser. For TCP and SCC Data Link a tunnel client is required.

Your tunnel connection now appears in the Remote Access panel.

  • Click on 

    to terminate the tunnel connection.

Past sessions are displayed within the panel.

 

You can also edit existing tunnel connections.

  • Click 

    to edit an existing tunnel connection.

  • Enter the IP address of your local machine in the field Local IP (optional).

  • Enter the port of your local machine in the field Local Port (optional).

  • Click 

    to save your changes to the tunnel connection.
