Rebooting an Edge Device

Requirements


General

The Edge Device must be online.

Operator

If the Edge Device is not paired with an asset, anyone with the Workshop Manager role can reboot it.

If the Edge Device is paired with an asset, any user with the Workshop Manager role for that asset can perform a reboot.

Service Provider

The Edge Device must not be paired with an asset. If it is, only the Operator can perform a reboot.
Users must have one of the following roles: Customer Data Manager, GFMS Customer Data Manager or Service Technician.

How to perform the Reboot


  • Open the Edge Device Details page for the Edge Device you want to reboot.
  • Click the  button.

A dialog opens that informs you that the Edge Device will not be accessible for a few minutes.

  • Confirm this dialog via .

You will see confirmation that the reboot has been triggered successfully.

After a while, the Edge device will go offline.

Note that the status is only updated when you refresh the website.

After a few minutes, the Edge device should be online again.
