symmedia Virtual Edge Device

symmedia Virtual Edge Device

Virtual Edge Devices are an alternative to physical symmedia Edge Devices. This allows all machines to benefit from the symmedia Hub service workflow without requiring dedicated hardware. If a customer requires a machine connection, the symmedia Consulting service can provide a Virtual Edge Device.

There is no noticeable difference between a virtual and physical edge device in the Hub, except that no dedicated hardware is required. All symmedia Hub functions are available in the virtualized system. These include a secure connection to the physical machine via symmedia WebVNC, symmedia Secure Service Connect (SSC) Tunnel for file transfers, and symmedia SSC Data Link Tunnel Extension.
