Operator - Create and Edit Assets
There are two different ways to create assets:
Required User Role for creation and editing processes: Workshop Manager
Create Asset based on an Asset Proposal of a Service Provider
Service Providers can propose an asset for service to the Operator for a machine that they created on symmedia Hub.
As Operator tenants are self managed, they are free to accept theses asset proposals. The Operator can accept or decline asset proposals if he does not want to use the services provided with this proposal.
License subscription: Assets that are created based on a proposal of a Service Provider are free of charge in the symmedia Hub for the Operator of the asset.
For details see: Licenses
Asset proposals are displayed at the top of the asset overview page. As an Operator, you can

It is not longer mandatory to assign a facility to an Asset. If this step is skipped, the Asset will be displayed in the Asset Overview grouped unter "no facility". If the current user has no scope on the selected facility or scope on the whole tenant, he will not have access on the created Asset after closing the creation dialogue. An admin of the own tenant needs to be consulted in that case.
In step 3 Asset Tags can be added to the Asset. Tags can be used for sorting and filtering of the Asset Overview page.
After clicking , you are asked to enter a reason why you want to decline the asset proposal.

Asset Creation
The symmedia Hub allows Operators to create assets on their own and without the link to a Service Provider. It is possible to use internal Service Case Management for these Assets or purchase Edge Devices from symmedia and pair them to the assets to use connected features such as Remote Access or File Transfer. Furthermore, it is possible (with the support of the symmedia consulting team) to invite and onboard the Service Providers of these assets to the platform and request service for these assets.
If you want to use these features with your asset or if you have questions, get in touch with us at https://symmedia.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/group/1/create/15.
Assets that are created based on a proposal of a Service Provider are free of charge in the symmedia Hub for the Operator of the asset.
Assets that are created by the own tenant (not based on the proposal of a Service Provider) and that are not in the state DEACTIVATED are NOT free of charge. The license costs are according to your signed SaaS agreement that can be viewed by users with the tenant admin role at Settings → Company.
If your tenant has not aligned billing information with symmedia, Assets that are created will be automatically set to DEACTIVATED and therefore free of charge. An activation of these Assets is only possible when billing informations are aligned (see also the following chapter "Deactivate Assets" for more information).
